"May 18th 1993 is a date that my wife and I will never forget. That was the date that our 5 year old granddaughter,
Aleszandra Ariel Berrelez nicknamed "Alie", was abducted from her yard by a stranger, Her lifeless body was found
four days later in a duffel bag at the bottom of Deer Creek Canyon in the rocky mountains of Colorado. Losing our
beautiful Alie to this senseless crime has compelled us to form the A.L.I.E. foundation in memory of her. Her nickname
stands for ABDUCTED, LOST, INNOCENT, ENOUGH. These are the words that keep coming back into our mind
every time we think of the crime that was committed against Alie, our family and our society. "
